Weekdays, 10:00am-2:00pm
Justin’s love for radio started early. In sixth grade, he turned his bedroom into a makeshift radio station using a small FM transmitter his grandfather “tweaked,” broadcasting country music to anyone in the neighborhood who could tune in. By 13, he talked his way into an internship at KNJO in Thousand Oaks, where he learned some important lessons very quickly, including that coffee machines and radio studios do not mix. One early-morning pot nearly caught fire, ending with a 5:30am phone call to his grandmother asking what to do. The studio survived, and so did his love for radio.
At 16, Justin landed his first on-air request show at KHAY in Ventura. His career grew through Southern California radio before he finally made it on the air at Country 93.9 KZLA in Los Angeles, then the most listened-to country station in America. From there, his path stretched into national radio with projects like The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40, After MidNite Weekends with Whitney Allen, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx. He was also part of the original team behind The Big Time with Whitney Allen as Executive Producer.
Today, Justin hosts middays on Country 106.9 in the Antelope Valley and afternoons at Eagle Country 105.7 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He’s also the host of The 90s Country Countdown, a nationally syndicated weekend show, and goes live every night at 7pm PST on TikTok with Boot Scootin’ Country Live, a 90s country hang built around requests, stories, and singing along.
When he’s not on the air, Justin is usually watching local news, eating dessert, or hanging out with his very spoiled dog, Patches. You can keep up with Justin at radiojustin.com and catch him live nightly on TikTok.
